Plesk has released version 18.0.79, and one thing that stood out in the release notes was the strong focus on security.

According to Plesk, this release included a comprehensive security audit, fixes for multiple security vulnerabilities, and additional hardening improvements throughout the platform.

This is something we've been talking about internally for quite some time. Over the last year, we've seen repeated brute force attacks specifically targeting Plesk servers, often tied to known vulnerabilities and weaknesses being actively abused in the wild. Because of this, we've implemented additional security measures across our infrastructure that go beyond the default Plesk configuration.

It's good to see Plesk finally acknowledging these concerns and taking steps to address them. While some of these improvements would have been welcome much sooner, security improvements are always better than no improvements at all.

As always, we'll continue to monitor threats, apply updates, and add additional protections where needed to help keep customer websites and services secure.
